Saumur 2022 - Domaine Guiberteau

This 2022 Saumur is a white wine from the Loire Valley produced by Domaine Guiberteau from Chenin Blanc grapes grown on several plots with deep clay-limestone soils within the Saumur appellation. Grown organically, Romain Guiberteau’s vineyard favours hand-harvesting and a minimal-intervention winemaking approach, with fermentation using indigenous yeasts and ageing carried out in a combination of tanks, large casks and oak barrels. On the nose, this 2022 Saumur Blanc reveals aromas of citrus, white-fleshed fruit, white flowers and subtle spicy notes. On the palate, Guiberteau’s Chenin Blanc offers a full-bodied and juicy texture, underpinned by lovely freshness and a mineral, briny structure that lingers on the finish. The 2022 vintage thus strikes a balance between rich fruit and tension, with a precise expression of Saumur’s limestone terroirs.
