This magnum of Vin de Pays de l’Hérault 2025 is a fine white wine from the Languedoc, produced by Mas de Daumas Gassac in the Upper Gassac Valley in Aniane. The 2025 vintage is a blend dominated by Viognier (35 per cent) and Chardonnay (24 per cent), complemented by Petit Manseng (15 per cent), Chenin Blanc (10 per cent), Muscat Petit Grain and several rarer white grape varieties such as Marsanne, Roussanne, Petit Courbu, Gros Manseng, Sauvignon and Fiano. The grapes are harvested by hand from soils of calcareous gravel and white Lutetian limestone, then vinified with skin contact for 2 to 3 days and fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by 5 months’ ageing in tank. On the nose, this Mas de Daumas Gassac Blanc 2025 reveals aromas of white-fleshed fruit, citrus and flowers, whilst on the palate it combines body, freshness and structure. This white Vin de Pays de l’Hérault can be enjoyed in its early years for its fruit and freshness, or laid down for several years to allow its aromas to develop towards honey and candied fruit. Served at around 11 to 12 °C, this magnum of Mas de Daumas Gassac white will pair perfectly with fish, seafood, scallops, risotto or poultry in a creamy sauce.
