La Lumière 2023 - Glandien

This Vin de France La Lumière 2023 is a Burgundy white wine produced by Maison Glandien from Chardonnay grapes grown in the vineyards of the Les Jardins Vivants estate, in the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise. The grapes come from a plot of around 0.5 hectares with clay-limestone soils composed of marl and pebbles, cultivated according to the principles of organic farming and harvested by hand. The winemaking process involves foot-treading of whole bunches followed by vertical pressing, before spontaneous fermentation and ageing on lees for 19 months in 228-litre barrels. On the nose, this La Lumière 2023 reveals aromas of white fruit, ripe citrus and hazelnut, with a fresh, mineral character. On the palate, this Burgundy Chardonnay offers a supple, full-bodied texture, underpinned by lovely tension and a mineral backbone that leads into a long, briny finish. Served at around 12 °C, this 2023 Vin de France white wine will pair perfectly with Bresse chicken in a cream and morel sauce, pan-fried scallops, fish with lemon butter, or a risotto with asparagus and Parmesan.
