This 2020 Champagne Roses by Jeanne Presle is a Blanc de Noirs crafted by Cédric Bouchard from Pinot Noir grapes grown on a micro-terroir in the Côte des Bar, in the Vallée de l’Aube. This single-vineyard cuvée exemplifies the winemaker’s approach, based on a precise understanding of the terroir, the grape variety and the vintage, with a limited production run. The Presle 2020 reveals a rich and expressive nose with aromas of stone fruit, notably peach, plum and apricot, accompanied by notes of hazelnut, brioche and white flowers. On the palate, this 2020 Blanc de Noirs Champagne offers a dense, vinous body, underpinned by crisp freshness and lovely tension, with a full-bodied texture and a lingering finish. The winemaking process prioritises the expression of the Pinot Noir from the Côte des Bar, with fermentation using indigenous yeasts and ageing on lees, without filtration or dosage, to preserve the purity of the wine and the terroir. Served at around 10 °C, this 2020 Roses de Jeanne Presle will pair perfectly with smoked fish, scallops, seafood, salmon or poultry, and will appeal to lovers of single-vineyard Champagnes, Pinot Noir Blanc de Noirs and terroir-driven cuvées by Cédric Bouchard.
