Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Argillières 2020 - Prieuré-Roch

This 2020 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Argillières is a great Burgundy red wine produced by Domaine Prieuré-Roch from Pinot Noir grapes, grown on a 0.69-hectare plot situated in Prémeaux-Prissey, to the south of the Nuits-Saint-Georges appellation. The vines, which are around 65 years old, are planted on a plot characterised by a steep slope, the upper part of which meets the rock face. When this terroir was acquired by the estate in 2009, it was already farmed organically. The Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Argillières 2020 is distinguished by a very rich and warm body, with aromas of ripe red and black fruits, spicy notes and a more earthy character typical of the great wines of Nuits-Saint-Georges. On the palate, Prieuré-Roch’s Pinot Noir offers a full-bodied and fleshy structure, supported by particularly enveloping and creamy tannins, as well as a lovely length. This Premier Cru from the Côte de Nuits possesses a generous body that will allow it to age favourably in the cellar for several years. Served at around 16 to 18 °C, it pairs perfectly with roast red meat, game, poultry with mushrooms or mature cheeses.
