Corton Grand Cru Les Perrières 2019 - Méo-Camuzet

This 2019 Corton Grand Cru Les Perrières is a great Burgundy red wine produced by Domaine Méo-Camuzet from Pinot Noir grapes, within the Corton Grand Cru appellation in the Côte de Beaune. The Les Perrières plot, situated to the north of the village of Aloxe-Corton, rests on deep, particularly stony soil, composed of numerous limestone pebbles, and benefits from a due east aspect. This terroir gives the Corton Grand Cru Les Perrières a pronounced mineral character and a structure well-suited to ageing. The 2019 vintage reveals aromas on the nose of red and black fruits, plum, undergrowth and spices, accompanied by mineral and slightly liquorice-like nuances. On the palate, this 2019 Corton from Méo-Camuzet is full-bodied and concentrated, with a dense texture, firm tannins and a long finish underpinned by lovely minerality. This Burgundy Grand Cru red wine still requires a few more years’ ageing to allow its structure to fully integrate and will pair well with game, roast beef, a cut of veal or robust poultry dishes.
