Corton Grand Cru Clos Rognet 2019 - Méo-Camuzet

This 2019 Corton Grand Cru Clos Rognet is a great Burgundy red wine produced by Domaine Méo-Camuzet from Pinot Noir grapes, on the Corton hillside in the Côte de Beaune. The Clos Rognet plot, situated in Ladoix-Serrigny and facing due east, is surrounded by old walls and home to vines planted in the 1920s, yielding low yields and particularly concentrated grapes. The 2019 Corton Grand Cru displays lovely complexity on the nose, centred on ripe red and black fruits, black cherry, spices and notes of undergrowth, with perfectly integrated oak. On the palate, this 2019 Corton Clos Rognet from Méo-Camuzet is full-bodied, rich and concentrated, supported by fine yet structured tannins and a freshness that brings energy to the whole. Its generous body and length make this a Corton Grand Cru with excellent ageing potential, which will develop gradually and continue to improve over many years. This Burgundy red wine is the perfect accompaniment to game, a cut of beef, roast poultry or mature cheeses, and should be served at around 15–16 °C after being opened or decanted whilst still young.
