The Spätburgunder Mohlin 2022 from the Wasenhaus estate is a German red wine made from the Pinot Noir (Spätburgunder) grape variety, produced in the Baden region of southern Germany. The Wasenhaus estate, founded by Alexander Götze and Christoph Wolber after their time at leading Burgundy estates, is now renowned for its natural wines of great finesse, precision and elegance, marked by a very pure expression of the terroir.

The Mohlin 2022 cuvée comes from limestone and marl-limestone soils, giving this Pinot Noir a straightforward minerality, delicate tension and an airy structure. The colour is light ruby. The nose reveals subtle aromas of fresh cherry, raspberry and redcurrant, accompanied by floral notes (peony, rose) and a slight chalky touch. On the palate, the Spätburgunder Mohlin 2022 Wasenhaus stands out for its silky texture, fine tannins and long, fresh and salty finish, typical of wines aged with sensitivity and precision.

Served at around 14-15°C, this Baden red wine is the perfect accompaniment to roast poultry, refined vegetable dishes, seared tuna or mild cheeses. Its ageing potential is estimated at 5 to 8 years, during which time it will gain depth and aromatic complexity.

A bright, elegant and vibrant Spätburgunder Wasenhaus, ideal for lovers of precise and digestible Pinot Noir, at the crossroads of Burgundian spirit and German minerality.
