Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2019 - Méo-Camuzet

This 2019 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is a great Burgundy red wine produced by Domaine Méo-Camuzet from Pinot Noir grapes, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. The estate’s vineyards, situated in the upper part of the Clos de Vougeot, close to the château, benefit from shallow soil composed of gravel, limestone and bedrock, with vines of varying ages, some of which were planted as early as 1920. The 2019 vintage produces a concentrated and well-structured Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, characterised by aromas of blackcurrant, black cherry, plum, violet and spices, accompanied by hints of earth and undergrowth. On the palate, Méo-Camuzet’s 2019 Pinot Noir offers a full-bodied, velvety texture, supported by ripe tannins, lovely freshness and a particularly long finish. This Burgundy Grand Cru has significant ageing potential and will pair well with game, a cut of beef, roast lamb or a robust poultry dish.
